Our Mission
The Community Vanguard
Empowr is a nonprofit (501c3) that uplifts the black community by creating the school-to-career pipeline. We understand that the key to economic prosperity starts with education. However, black children face systemic hurdles preventing them from obtaining the knowledge necessary to succeed in life. These disparities are the foundation for the poverty cycles, crime, education gaps, and multitude of problems that have been ingrained into our community.
To combat these issues we, teach software development skills to our students that translate to high-paying jobs. Our comprehensive program teaches students the skills they will need on the job while encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit. Before they graduate, our students have started their own businesses, created and released products, talked with CEOs and industry leaders, and undergo leadership training. Upon graduation, each student obtains a job where the average salary is over six figures.
